Recently we met with Tracey from Smallprint Adelaide & South to find out more about her thriving silver print jewellery business.

Tracey, who works from her home studio at Camden Park is the type of wonderful person that you cannot fail to get along with and self confessed chatterbox .  She’s also clearly very passionate about her business and extremely focused on delivering a quality product to every single one of her customers. You’ll often see her at most kid focused markets around Adelaide and we’re extremely excited to have her onboard our very first fair!

Tell us a bit about you…

I’ve been creating personalised silver keepsake jewellery since January 2015 under the Smallprint franchise. My daughter Cora was born later that year so I was lucky enough to capture her newborn prints. My favourite piece to wear is a double sided oval pendant featuring Cora’s footprint captured the day she was born on one side and her fingerprint captured at 2 years of age on the other side. My family is very supportive and involved in the running my business and you may see my husband Daniel or my mother Yvonne out with me at my various printing events.

I also have a love for animals and share my home with a variety of pets. We have expanded our business to include the ‘Silver Pet Prints’ animal brand which I’m finding very rewarding and my customers will often order from both the ‘human’ and ‘animal’ ranges.

What’s the best part of your job?

I just love meeting my customers and their gorgeous families and the best part is definitely delivering completed orders. It’s a joy to see their reactions when they open up their packages.

Do you offer a custom design service?

Yes, all my pieces are unique to each and every customer. We have a standard range of shapes and sizes that can be tweaked to show individual flare and we can also design something completely unique together. Provided I have the skills required to make your custom design I would love to create it for you.

Describe a typical working day

I’m lucky enough to work from home and my work day typically includes customer printing appointments, various production and admin tasks between the Mum juggle of loads of washing, phone calls and emails!  When I have my daughter home with me (aka my Little Boss Lady) I try and squeeze in as much production while she is napping.

What’s your favourite song to listen to while you’re working?

I will usually have the radio on while I am working. If I am going to settle into a big production session I will often turn on some 90’s pop!

When I was pregnant I wish some told me……

It is ok to ask for help when you need it. The saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ is so true in my experience. You don’t have to be perfect at everything. If you are lucky like me, you have people around you who love you and your bubs. They are ready and willing to help, all you need to do is ask!
